Ghada Samman, aauthor of more than twenty-eight books, has been referred to as the most prominent Syrian woman writer of fiction of the last century. Nancy N. Roberts was awarded the Arkansas Translation Prize for her translation of Ghada Samman’s Beirut ‘75.
