Renowned heart surgeon Sir Magdi Yacoub will be in conversation with Khaled Ezzelarab, associate professor of practice, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, the American University in Cairo.

AUC Press will be publishing Sir Magdi’s biography, A Surgeon and a Maverick: The Life And Pioneering Work of Magdi Yacoub by veteran journalists Simon Pearson and Fiona Gorman, with a foreword by Dame Mary Archer, in July 2023. The book follows Yacoub’s life from his formative years in Egypt to his career in Britain, where he pushed frontiers in medicine and served communities around the world, for which he was awarded the Order of Merit.
